This stunning 1930s family home in Brentwood, Essex has been fully renovated to include a light-filled glass extension at the rear, which contains a gorgeous dark green bespoke kitchen by John Lewis of Hungerford.

Ryan photographed the kitchen with careful attention to detail, taking in all the many features and talking points of the room while showcasing just how beautiful the cabinetry appears against the natural light flooding in from the floor-to-ceiling glazed windows and doors.

Classic Shaker furniture is painted in a bespoke deep green shade and is contrasted beautifully with burnished brass handles from Armac Martin.

The striking splashback may look like solid marble but is actually a digital print which is not only budget friendly but also hardwearing, heat resistant and scratchproof. This really catches the eye and sits perfectly with the high-spec Neff ovens and hob with Elica extractor overhead.

The brief for Rebecca Nokes, senior designer and studio manager at John Lewis of Hungerford’s Fulham showroom, included creating an industrial look that was warm, homely and period in design.

A large island takes centre stage within the open-plan space and is a great spot for preparing meals and chatting with family or friends over a coffee. Along with plenty of storage, the island also houses a wine cabinet, Kohler sink and Quooker boiling water tap. The Vault Smart Divide sink is ultra-practical, as it can be fully filled with water to accommodate larger cookware, while four hanging pendant lights from Buster + Punch enhance the industrial vibe.

Additional requirements for the new kitchen included a large glazed dresser for crockery and ceramics, sociable seating around the island and an overall symmetrical look, which includes concealing refrigeration and a pantry behind matching full-height cabinet doors on either side of the ovens and hob.

As well as designing the kitchen, John Lewis of Hungerford were also tasked with creating a new utility room and a master bedroom with walk-in wardrobe upstairs. Choosing complementary joinery for these spaces achieves a sense of flow and symmetry that the client was keen to create.

The photography shows off every element to perfection and for Rebecca Nokes, the results speak for themselves. “Working with Ryan is great,” she says. “He’s really diligent, he’s focused on getting great shots and his eye for detail is amazing. He takes a good amount of photos, his wide angle shots are so powerful and we have plenty of killer photos. I am super pleased with the results and am looking forward to working with him again soon.”
